Globus Books is honored to invite you to an interview with Alla Gorbunova, the author of "It's the End of the World, My Love," the winner of a prestigious "Nos(E)" Award in Russia. The English translation by Elina Alter is forthcoming from Deep Vellum Publishing in 2022.
A poet, prose writer, translator, and critic, Gorbunova has published five books of poetry and received the Andrei Bely Prize for her collection "Пока догорает азбука." Her first collection of short prose, Вещи и ущи, was published in 2017 by the Saint Petersburg publishing house Limbus Press. Her poems have been translated into English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Serbian, Danish, Swedish, Finnish, Latvian, Bulgarian, Slovenian, Greek, and Chinese. Her prose has been translated into English, Italian, Bulgarian, Polish, Serbian, Slovak, and Romanian.
Alla Gorbunova will present her new book in conversation with Zarina Zabrisky and Elina Alter.
Zarina Zabrisky is the author of three short story collections and a novel "We, Monsters" (Numina Press, 2014). Zabrisky's work appeared in nine countries in over fifty literary magazines and anthologies, including The Nervous Breakdown, A Capella Zoo, Eleven Eleven, The Rumpus, Guernica, and received nominations and awards, including 2013 Acker Awards for Avant-Garde Excellence. Zabrisky runs literary and cultural programs at Globus Books.
Elina Alter is a writer and translator living in New York. Her translations of Alla Gorbunova are forthcoming from Deep Vellum. She is an oral history fellow at the Yiddish Book Center and the
editor of Circumference, a journal of translation and international culture.
